| |  | Penang, Jan 20053-day short trip to Penang Island, stayed at buddy Ben's house (thanks Ben & YY). Visited some Wats, some temples, a 'kongsi', a hill, a botanic garden, a mall, and of course, round-island trip. And had lots of food.
Didn't manage to go Batu Feringgi. Maybe next time... |

| |  | Kota Kinabalu, June 2004Another trip to Kota Kinabalu, of a group of 8 persons. This time I went for Mt KK and Poring Hot Spring again, but skipped Padas white-water rafting (to spend some time with Hiu at Pulan Manukan at the morning, and to take some photos at Tanjung Aru at the evening).
Later we went to Pulau Manukan and Kota Belud for the weekend "tamu". |

| | | | | LaosWe crossed into Huay Xai, northern Laos from Chiang Khong (Thailand), and from here we go southward to Luang Phrabang (by bus via Luang Namtha), Vang Vieng, Vientiane, Pakse then Veunkham, where we left this charming little country and continue to Cambodia. |

| | | |  | Cambodiawe used the Veumkham (Southern Laos) border crossing to reach Stung Treng (Northern Cambodia) by a very expensive speed boat (USD40/boat due to monopoly, 1 1/4 hr). From here we took bus to Phnom Penh (USD10, 10hrs, very bad road condition especially the first stretch), and then fly to Siem Reap (Bangkok Airway, USD60, 40mins). |

| | | | | |  | Angkor Archaeological ParkDue to time constraint we were only able to explore this area for 2 days (3-day pass: USD40), which for me is not enough. One of the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, it pays to visit the same temple at different time of the day to see how the sun plays the game of Light and Shadow. My favorite temple is Banteay Srei, the citadel of women. Angkor Wat and Bayon are edged out by the slightest margin. |

| | | |  | MyanmarWe did crossed over to Myanmar's Tachileik town from Mae Sai, Thialand for a 1/2 day trip. Myanmar side charges USD5/person. Tuk-tuk drivers will surround you for tour packages once cross into Myanmar, expect to pay around USD5/person for those trips. |

| |  | Nepal, Apr 20042-week trip to Nepal with T. This is my first time to Nepal, a country that I've planned to go long long time ago, and I finally make it. Places we visited include:
Kathmandu, Patan/Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, Poon Hill Trek, Lumbini and Royal Chitwan National Park.
Nepal, I will be back!!!

| |  | Bangkok & Pattaya, Oct 2004a short trip revisiting Bangkok (my 2nd time here) and first-time visit to Pattaya with Ben. We had some great funs there but used up Thai Baht too quickly.
Lesson learnt: bring much more $$$ you think you will need to Thailand! |
